This year, 2016, has been rough on celebrities and creative types, such as actors, writers and musicians. For this community, we took a hit earlier this year with Kenny Baker's passing. Now, we have taken a much bigger hit with the passing of Carrie Fisher today.
She portrayed the character with great dignity, poise, and respect, and helped to break the mold for female protagonists in films that shook things up a fair bit back in '77 and as recently as in Force Awakens. She had a sharp, great and quick wit that she used to great effect, and frequently in a self-referential and hilarious manner. She was honest and up front about her flaws, and was unapologetic about it. She's a complex person, and it is a terrible loss to us all, and especially to her family. Our condolences and respects to her family on their loss.
But, as Yoda himself wisely said (regardless that it's a fictional character, the words are still wise): "Mourn them do not. Miss them do not." They will live on with us in our hearts, and let us be thankful that they have shared their talents and abilities with us all, and providing such a wonderful example and inspiration to so many.
I have raised the limit to submit to the "In Memoriam" collection to the max that I am allowed, but if you find you are unable to submit to it, just submit it or note it to us and we will re-route it to the right collection, or list the images here below.
Farewell, Princess, may you rest in peace alongside your coworkers: Peter Cushing, Sir Alec Guinness, Sir Christopher Lee, Erik Bauersfeld, Aaron Allston and Kenny Baker. Once again, to borrow from another "Star" series...
"To absent friends...."

As a Reminder...
...if an image was removed from a category, and you attempt to add it back in to the same one it was removed from, it's going to be removed again. A third time, and you will be removed from the group with it. You can contact the group prior to re-submission for any clarification, and if in that discussion it is determined where the misunderstanding is resolved, then there's not going to be any kind of penalty (but you have to contact us first). As was stated in a previous journal entry...

Vader Fan Film
Hey, so I've been following this really awesome fan film for Vader, figured you guys would like it. It's by a YouTuber called "Star Wars Theory" and it's based eight months after Revenge of the Sith. But I'll just leave the link and let you guys see the rest for yourselves
Oh and he only had $100,000 to make it, he had to get it on his own because LucasFilms said he couldn't rely on crowdfunding, so that's cool I suppose... anyway, here's the link
(I can't figure out how to get the player to show up ^^;)

We have lost several from our Star Wars family in 2016
Alethea McGrath(Jocasta Nu), Erik Bauersfeld(Admiral Ackbar, Bib Fortuna), Ronald Falk(Dexter Jettster), Kenny Baker(R2-D2, Paploo), Peter Summer(Lieutenant Treidum) and Carrie Fisher (Our Princess)
I wish I had the full list many others also passed including Michael Fulmer (Empire Strikes Back Modeler)
I’m honoured to have met Carrie. Rest in Peace.
